1850's or double pumpers
« on: February 08, 2015, 01:58:45 PM »
Iv decided to build a new engine for my boat, and im putting a tunnel ram on it. It came with 2 1850 vac secondary 600's on it.. im not a vac secondary fan at all. I have 1 600 double pumper on the shelf and there's another for sale close to me fairly cheap,  any feedback on what would be the better choice to run would be appreciated.

In all honesty, in liking the vacuum secondaries on a TR. You have to set them up correctly though.

The mechanical secondaries might be tricky to set up. At the same time can also work great.

I know.  That doesn't really help, bet vacuum secondaries have proven themselves on tunnel ram's

You can do that if you want. You definitely want to run the light yellow spring.

Depending on what top you have on your tunnel ram, the reference tube may not be necessary.

…………………………”the 660 designs have 1:1 linkage meaning all 8 barrels open simultaneously along with 8 pump shots”
Read this, GN7 has passed on, but he was a true engine guru, he shoots from the hip. Really sorry he has passed on. He talked me out of the 660's and went with vacuum 750's (3310) Others will work from 600 to old Corvette 830's. Shitcan the race only by time you have gotten them more than likely some body has F'd and sold them to ??
