Isn't your Brendella the same bottom as a Pantera?

Same bottom same boat but the top, mine is a bubbledeck. The T Deck will free up a little room for interior or nitrous or whatever needed. I am going to transplant what I can from my boat to save the $$$.

If they are the same bottom, why are you getting a new boat?

I really dont see the t-deck freeing up any room . Anywho , I'll gut my boat for a decently priced new one  >:D

I have become friends with the family and Dale is going to start building boats again. He needs a bubbledeck top to redo a mold he either sold of got damaged. We are bartering some wiring and my boat so he can use the top for a mold and I get a brand new boat.

The T Deck will free up a couple inches for my seat to slide forward and put a N20 bottle behind me.

Try not to go to far forward . You will be defeating the purpose of the T-deck .

My Jacuzzi just had $4,000 in work done to it and was in the water for less than an hour that's why.

Im not very tall so the few inches I can get for the N20 and direct drive alt will help a little. We are even talking about shortening the deck a little. As for the Tdeck and driver safety like Dale says If your gonna get tossed ur gonna get tossed. You will still hit shit on the way out or get hit by the boat or whatever it really doesnt matter.

Blue, can you find out if Dale has any information on the Hondo GT T-Deck boats from the late 70's.

So far mine is the only one I have been able to find that has a jet (the others I've found all are V-drive).

Thanks,  crewchief

Blue,

It's a 77 Hondo T-Deck GT Pantera (from what I've been told).  Original 454/Jacuzzi WJ.

Here are some pics http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=919.msg9936#msg9936

The badges on the side say Hondo Boats, Sylmar

I have searched on-line many times and found about 6-8 GT T-Deck boats but all are V-Drives.

You now know about as much as I do  ;D

Thanks for anything you can do.

That boat turned out beautiful!

Josh, if you or Tom have any history about this deck, please kick down some information.

Does anyone know what the reason for the differences in this deck and the standard flat T-deck?

I believe James Brendel made that deck. Hondo has changed owners a few times with changes to the boats each time. I will get a quick history.

For 76 the brochure lists "available in GT or T deck".

I fully restored and re rigged that boat. I painted it in my buddys machine shop early one sunday mornin before the dust kicked up! Had some good times with that boat at naci and San Antonio.

It will be a little while. The red tape with the coast guard and liabilities is neverending, but we are on it. Also laid out blueprints to build a new boat building shop and engine building room with a DTS Dyno.

i dont think so ??? but just like with race cars that are converted to the street, probably some kind of inspection like the dmv does. i will stop speculating since i dont know.

I think you can register as a homebuilt, and I'm sure there would be a DMV inspection. As a homebuilt the resale probably wouldn't be crap, except to insiders. Disclaimer - I have no idea what I am talking about, but it makes sense to me.

2 Sav Nailed it ! If you don't have any HIN or paper work or MSO (manufacturers certificate of origin) you go to DMV with ALL the copies reciepts for wood, fiberglass, screws bolts nuts etc  ,you swear (make) a "statement of facts" (under penalty of perjury) and "presto" you got a SPCN (special constuction) Boat with hin and CF #s etc . Sometimes they will physically inspect it, most times not ,inspection is understandable should be anticipated considering the possibilty Theft /stolen boats etc . Then you can "petition" the DMV for a name change from spcn to whatever eg if its a Hondo etc (however this doesnt always work) Tom
