Title: classified ads
Post by: FORKEDUP on April 22, 2008, 04:26:30 PM
why on earth do people post a for sale ad and not put a phone number in it :banghead:, i found a boat for sale that i really want, it would be great for the family and the price is fantastic, the person only left an email, so now that i have sent 6 emails and have not gotten a response it is starting to agitate the living hell out me, i have been sending emails and waiting on a phone call since 7:30 this am, if you are selling something, please include a phone number, this is driving me crazy :banghead: , sorry just needed to vent a little, i cleaned this up from what i had originally typed to keep the g rating, it was quite colorful ;D

I posted the very same rant a few months ago. I found 2 boats that I would have bought full price in cash if they were what was claimed. Never got a response back and ads eventually expired. Either they sold locally the same day they were posted or the seller was a jackass. I vote jackass

why on earth do people post a for sale ad and not put a phone number in it....

That's an easy one because that's what I do. It's because they are trying to avoid, as much as possible, the 20+ jackasss's per 1 honest buyer on the phone. I can't finish this reply without saying...

"What's lowst you take".

alot of those ads are bogus too......... there's been one on CL for about a week now selling an'06 Ranger bass boat for 6 large.
has anyone priced a new bass boat....... they are big bucks.....  I replied to an email once and never got an answer. Sometimes I wonder if they use bogus ads like that to get email addys for sales lists.

Most times on Craiglist, Email wont go to them, Even on EBay it dont go through, When I place add even EBay I put my email in add and ph#  same with Craigslist name & number no number no sale no pictures no sale and what about EBay where they dont spend the extra to put large pictures 12 or more$ 1.00 for more picture and large size. . I sell all my stuff with buy it now and good large clear picture 12 or more, and 4 pictures on Craiglist. Love photoshop 7.0 makes me money.

i understand getting floaded with flakes on the phone, and the scams, but this is an older jet boat with an open bow, no motor, don't know why someone would make a bogus ad for  a boat like that, and atleast answer one of the now 12 emails i have sent :banghead:

yeah, probably, but for now i am just going to fix it up, put a mild bbc in it and see what happens, the boat will be something that the wife and kids, grandma and grandpa can take out and cruise, it will not be fast or performance driven, just something reliable and relaxing, i have forkedup for goin fast and fixin ;D
