I drive an f250 towing a boat with an olds and on weekends cruise the town in a 72 chevelle. Hmmm

But I stuck my wife in a toyota highlander...... I'm not to partial to any brand, If it runs and does what it's suppose to do with minimal problems I'm ok with that.

People put Chevy engines in hot rods because they're cheaper and look better with the distributor in the back. It's a shame Chevy engine guys have to use Ford hot rod bodies lol.

Newer Boat wise Chevy is king because of mercury marine. A lot of offshore fishing boats are running small block fords in front of Volvo penta drives though.

Growing up every jet boat I was around was BBF or BBO. BBC replaced the blown up BBOs and the BBFs kept running, at least in our group.

All that said, both the wife and I daily drive toyotas lol.

5.4 triton? Blew out the spark plugs?? I've seen it a ton of times! I've also seen that long tip on the plug get stuck n break off when trying to do a simple tune-up.  Have to pull the head at that point. Garbage. 5.3 LS in a tahoe is  wayyy better!!

nah i already dealed with teh spark plugs on my 5.4 3v... which is a pain.  no issues with blowing plugs out on the 3v's.  my heater core hose got a leak, dripped down into my spark plug hole, shorted out the ignition coil, replaced all that.  cylinder was still dead.  unplugged fuel injector, no difference in idle.  replaced fuel injector.  still no change.  pulled plug out, got spark against a ground.  but noticed that if i shook the spark plug you could hear it rattling.  figure something inside of the spark plug took a crap when the coil on plug died... who knows.  $100 later it runs again.  Already replaced my cam phasers after they started ticking.  I'm just done with the 5.4 3v.  The navigator is amazing though.  Tahoes are COMPLETE garbage on the inside.  Chevrolet doesnt know how to make a decent interior.  All of their models are cheap plastic junk.  3rd row seat doesnt fold into the floor, you have to remove them, which sucks.  But in the end it sounds like its a more reliable truck.   

those spark plugs ruined my life last august, simple spark plug job for a buddy gone bad i still love ford, i would rather push my truck then where a bowtie

Sure it is....they're both trucks pretty much the same motor just a little bit of weight difference. Ones old, ones new.

Just the 4x4 compared to a 2wd is not the same.
Plus "a little bit of weight" goes a long way.
Additionally the 5.3 and 5.4 would be nearly the same motor.
Now add in different gears and we aren't even in the same book any more...
