I’m Back
« on: April 30, 2020, 02:19:54 AM »
Jumping back in !!!!
I’ve decided to jump back in the boating world and I think it’s about mft.
So I’m waiting on delivery on a ‘73 Miller just love the graphics it used to have an Oldsmobile and now it’s going to have a 468 BBC this motor is kinda special it belonged to my I guess you could say he’s my Stepdad but really he’s the guy that molded me as a youngster he also worked for my Dad when I was 11/12 years old and had been like a father since then. Unfortunately we lost him last year. So some how I ended up with the motor it was in a ‘ 69 Chevelle  he had years ago and he would never give it up when he was alive.... now I finally got my paws on it And that got the ball rolling. It’s a 468 the compression is a little hi side so I’m going to try and lower it s little but back in day that car Ran a  consistent low 11 sec quarter mile so I think it should do ok for now anyway. So here’s what it looks like. So see ya soon and I’ll keep you updated.

Welcome back guys.
Millers are good boats. There have been quite a few around the forums that have run really good.

I knew the excitement wouldn’t last long!!!
Dilemma this motor is a beast!! Pulled heads and the fricken pistons have a dome bigger than most enclosed stadiums and the heads have a chamber so small they could be negative cc’s. Well maybe an exaggeration but they are definitely closed chambers. So I’m hoping if I run my aluminum open chamber heads I might be able to calm it down a little. What else can I do to calm this beast? Was planning on running a single plain intake with a 850 double pumper. On a budget just wanted to get wet ASAP. Don’t want to run all race fuel and don’t think this jacuzzi is going to hold up. And my old lady want to know why it isn’t going
in the  boat yet. Shit I just got it yesterday now it’s looking like she might need to get a raft if she wants to get on the water.
Any ideas on how to calm it down enough to at least run half avv gas and premium?

depending on the pistons you can have them cut the dome down. or do it yourself. just make sure you cut equal amounts and remove ALL sharp edges. the other is thicker head gaskets, felpro has them for just that purpose.

I’m going to try having them cut or milling them myself but I’m not sure how much I don’t want to guess.
