So I found a guy who had a 455 stuffed in the corner of his garage and he was desperate to get rid of it. The boat rotted and he pulled the engine to save, his son pulled it apart to rebuild it but never finished. He did however buy everything he needed. Rings, gaskets, bearings... Check out the photos.

Ok bam here my olds haven't really had any problems with it just the boat from leaking fuel tank that fuck up my carpet. Also I've seen a lot of fellow jetboats with Chevy and fords just get into the water and start it up and bam their motor brakes and have towed a couple of them back. We all like to talk shit about others and how they build their boats. But the biggest thing is it is in all fun from this big jetboat family. Make your boat the way u want to run what u want to and in the long run if u like how it turned out from all the work u put in then fuck what every body else says. It's yours and your family's boat not theirs. Mine might be a piece of shit but it runs and we have a lot of fun with it. 👍🚤🍺

Old's take it to Mendello in corona ca, his dad Joe was the king of old's motors, and if you can find a true joe Mendello motor, running they are worth big bucks. It's all in the oil mapping on those motors. But the cost a lot to build correctly, and if parts break, Chevys are cheaper to build, ford 460 great motors, cost is in between Chevy and old's for parts. I would stay away from a plan old's. Also Check engine hours, over 250 on a old's its time for rebuild.

Jet boats and cars are two way different things obviously. Love GM products in my cars and trucks but a BBF seems to be my choice when it comes to my jet boats. Just my two cents! I totally agree when it comes to build what you want who really cares as long as it runs and floats have some damn fun with it!
