I started looking at new Chevy and Ford Diesel's this weekend. I am thinking of going to Nevada to buy it so i don't have to pay taxes on it cuz California taxes suck 

Any one suggest any dealers out there?  I am looking to get this by the end of summer, i think that's when they start doing the good deals.

I HAVE A 04 duramax and love it too...different motor than nordie's i believe there are 4 motor types through the years....an early 99-2003 powerstroke 7.3 are bitchen really loud but make good power...newer 03 - up 6.0 fords have a lot of headgasket problems...sure my duramax has had its share of injector problems..but there warrantied through 200k...in cali you can get a way(so far)on the pre-08 straight pipe exhaust programers ect. cause no smog law...here in vegas they test(sure....lol)

BE SURE TO CHECK W/ DEALERS IN VEGAS RE: BUYING AND REGISTERING IT IN CALI...IM SURE CALI WILL BONE YOU SOMEHOW BUYING AN OUT OF STATE VEHICLE...IT MAY NOT BE WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN...

I like the Chevies for looks. I think the fords may be heavier duty. I dunno about deisels, Nordies hauls ass.

You'll need to have a resident register it in that state under their name (in NV).  You won't be able to reg it in CA w/o paying taxes.  It's not as easy as "buy there and bring it here" -or we all would do that.  Slap an extra 10-11% on those prices for ttl...   sucks huh?

05 - early 07 had the good motors chromeys late 04 also has the good motor...although me n him have never raced to find out...i beat a 350z off the line and up to 102mph before it pulled away and my governer kicked in...my dads 05 ran like a bat out of hell too...his g/fs 06 is ideal i wish i had her truck, but i dont...

are you sure you want to buy a "GOVERNMENT MOTORS " truck, they might not be here to honor the warranty, I would go with the Ford.  .02

i'm more of a chevy guy plus the allison trannys are bulletproof

i'm not opposed to the ford's though thats why im looking at both
