that's pretty cool....can appreciate the fact that, that keeps americans at work....might not be union, but still

yeah NBC did a special on the plant and talk to the workers about not being union. they told NBC they were happy just to have jobs and be able to support their families

I'm not sure about KIA, but with the Toyota plant in Texas, roughly 50% of their initial workforce was from the GM plant across the highway, and after 2 years of working @ Toyota, the majority of the ones from the UAW/GM said they wouldn't go back for any reason. Pay is good, bennies are good, most importantly, working is good.

The problem with UAW was bennys came out to about 70 bucks per hr for each member toyota honda and mosts imports have bennys that come out to 40 bucks per hr for each member UAW not all that money went to the employee s package but to top guys and lawyers   lawyers suck bad thing is my oldest boy is becoming a Navy lawyer  :screwy:my 02

didnt mean to turn this into a union nonunion deal...i knew toyota nissan and all of them had put plants here, but hearing kia took my by suprise really, trust me im not knocking it by any means....i know that my total package as far as my pay, and what the company pays for me isnt near what i get on my check, but atleast i know i will get a ritirement out of the deal without relying on a 401k, and social security, but for the now for these auto plant workers im sure that is the least of their worries....feeding your family is a main concern...i can appreciate the fact that these foreign companies are bringing work here, the sad parts is us own americans are giving out work to foreign countries....how often is it that you see a made in america logo now a days? seen a gig on winnebego, and almost everything on their rv's is assembled in house....really was digging on that....anyway thanks for confirming ralph, and skip

that is great to hear about the pention, sorry your dads not around anymore..really the purpose of my union -is for my pention and it cost me like 8 bucls a week for my medical. we do have one of the best contracts in town also. and in a right to work state if you make a mistake they jus cant fire you for no reasin you do have some protection and guide lines the employer has to follow.

i hope your mom uses that pention as much as she can for all the dedicated hours your dad had work for those years to recieve it..

we jus dont go to mead much anymore, just once inawhile with the sea-doos, thats why we bought them was to have something here when we stay home. both boats stay in parker at our place on the river..got tired of towing them back and forth..actually this will be the first time my jet will be on mead when we all meet up ..

thanks for that. i get wood with both my boats..
