Thats all good shit! As much as I love muscle cars and hotrods...In my high school days were in the late 80's...5.0's, Iroc's and Grand nationals were the shitznit!

I also raced at 'The Terminal",Brotherhood Raceway...what ever. I was bumpy and narrow even in the rental racers opps I mean rental cars!!!

I was a cool place and the races for "hotdogs" were plentiful. Talked to a jet car guy in Denver and he said it was on a good pass out there if he didn't get a MPH... The wheels where air born over the last mph beem!!!!

i used to go to the steetraces all the time in the oc / riverside / sfvalley every week...

tuesday night @ in the valley on glen oaks blvd
wendsday night @ carls jr, in anaheim over by camalot
friday night @ the valley on glen oaks blvd
saturday nights in riverside @ truckstop off the 10frwy or edawanta blvd
sunday nights in fullerton on imperial blvd...
never made it to the compton races (too white for that)

good times......ran my bug a few times against a few 5.0 stangs....those were my favoriate to eat up, those drivers would get so pissed...lol

As a member of the under 30 crowd... I didn't have the internet until 7th grade. No computer, not even cable. We didn't have a TV until I was 12, apparently my mom didn't believe in TV. My mom's idea of a treat was sliced apples (my mom is a chef). Never had soda unless I was at a friends house. Now they've got everything. My computer prohibition led me to a job as an IT administrator at the 8th largest Aerospace Manufacturer in the U.S. where a computer is in my life second to second. I'm 21 and was raised old school.
My grandfather owned a print shop in the valley and restored cars on the side. My first ride in a muscle car was his tubbed '56 Bel-air with a 427 he had pulled out of a corvette. I still am trying to get that car thrown in my name on his will.

Yep!!! I'd come out to see the family, March Meet,then CHRR and swing by. My cousins were in hs/jr high. Family is in Yorba linda. OMG I still still remeber the hotties!

Taking OUT the trash?

How about burning the trash in the backyard incinerator?....Twice a week or as needed. Yes, this was in LA, Cal.........Garbage went in a pail that was picked up by the GARBAGE truck once a week........Anyone remember S&H Green stamps?............Then Blue Chip stamps?....Gas was 29.9 for good stuff............And the car A/C was a swamp cooler in the passenger window that you put water in.........How about "Curb Feelers"? All the cars had them, never see them anymore, but you never see whitewalls anymore either. (even the Mickey Mouse whitewalls you could put over the blackwalls to make them white).........Spinner hubcaps, long before even "chrome wheels" were available.........AND you can't leave out the mid west popular red wheels on just about anything that rolled....Under 30 you say, how about under 50..........Oh and VERY, VERY few homes had FM radios, and no cars had them........Black and white TV for the basic broadcast TV stations, Spade Coley , Lawerence Welk, Cliffy Stone, Dick "leather britches" Lane......The "Fabulias 52" movies.........on Saturday nights. Damn, how did we ever survive?...........MP
