I dont know how that got out but i do know the guys that were involved with it.  It happened in between Bakersfield and Fresno about a year and half ago.  The caption says no one was injured but thats a lie. 2 guys are disabled because of it.

There was also a fatal one maybe two weeks ago out by the salton sea . Very erie and creepy . From what my friend says (he works for U.P.) even if you jump before impact , it's almost always fatal .

Yeah i was always told to ride it out if it ever happens to me.  About 3 years ago a train lost it going down the Cajon Pass and the 2 guys that jumped were killed but the guy that rode it out made it.  I think it would be a tough call to make if you were put in that position.

I would ride it out considering I'd be paralyzed with fear . My freind recently got his hand caught in between the cars as they came together . Somehow he was calm enough to disconnect the car and still work the controls to get his hand out . I never realized how easy it is to kill yourself in the yard no less .
