LSAR is about 2 hours from me, and I'm about 2 hours from you, it's on the central coast, near Paso Robles, and Jet Boat Performance.

Boost SA is a nice place ,35 minutes from Paso and just about anything you might need , 40 minutes from JBP ,Hot Clean and inexpensive Let me know if you need more info Tom

I told you before, you ought to try Shaver Lake. There are some really nice camp grounds (hot showers) with a number of sites within steps of the lake, reasonably priced motel rooms, and private cabin rentals for between $100 and $200 per night that will house 10-12 people. Summer highs are in the mid 80s, lows in the 50s, water temps are cool and refreshing, but comfortable, and the air is clear. Weekends on the lake are fairly busy, but during the week it is nearly empty except for fishing boats. The lake has about 2000 acres of surface area (compared to Elsinore's 3300 acres), but Shaver has more than twice the miles of shoreline (13) than Elsinore. There are 2 marinas on the lake and launching is free. It took me 4 hours to tow from my house to Azusa, and it's another hour to Shaver. Here are a few pics of the lake

Go to the river Brian. If you guys are interested in camping you can always stay in any of the parks up on the Parker strip or if you guys want to find a place to stay you could easily find a place to rent for a week or something, especially in today's econ. I am sure lots of places will be up for rent this summer. Camping may be a bit much if you do it in the dead of summer but early summer like March-mid April or late summer like September-mid October would probably be manageable temps.
But if you guys are set on going to a lake you could try Bass lake up near Yosemite (5 hours from here) I have never been to Sahver or Lake San Antonio but have heard good things about both.

family and i will be in parker june 2-6 (tue thru sat) staying at the bluewater, if anyone else will be there let us know we can hook up for a couple "sodas" ;D

me and the fam always go to parker first weekend of may for my pop's bday. we'll be there may 1-3 (echo lodge).
forked, blue water may work for me, but i'll be up there memorial weekend and probably stay till wednesday (if the boat is still running) ;D

Brian, Shaver's one of the best lakes in the state. You should difinetly consider it. Make sure your brakes are good, its steep coming off the mountain.
If you dont mind driving, Almanor is every bit as nice. Has services, restaurants and a town on the lake.
Trinity (Clair Engle Lake) is very nice, but watch the water level towards the end of the season. Rentals on the lake. River rafting below the lake.
New Melones is a good lake for houseboating. Glassy all day.
If you want to get serious about camping - Mammoth Pool Res.
