I started looking at new Chevy and Ford Diesel's this weekend. I am thinking of going to Nevada to buy it so i don't have to pay taxes on it cuz California taxes suck :mad:
Any one suggest any dealers out there? I am looking to get this by the end of summer, i think that's when they start doing the good deals.

If you have any preference, let me know too. i know this may start some controversy over Chevy/Ford but as much of a chevy man i am, my wife likes the F250 :screwy:

02 duramax love it...i wouldnt buy anything 08 though the re gen systems effing suck! i still have ties to a dealer could possibly get you new or almost new pretty cheap...saw a 07 gmc lifted fox shocks with by passes and every option possible go for 31.000 had 8 thousand miles on it! they have a ton of dodges there too...but i would say 05-07 duramax or 99-03 power stroke this is my opinion....the 6.0 power strokes i dont like at all and the 6.4 even worse had each of them in a flat-bed f550 as company trucks and hated em both...had a f550 07 the alt went out at 20k...as far as dealers go fairway chevrolet is probably the best bet or findlay chevrolet

I HAVE A 04 duramax and love it too...different motor than nordie's i believe there are 4 motor types through the years....an early 99-2003 powerstroke 7.3 are bitchen really loud but make good power...newer 03 - up 6.0 fords have a lot of headgasket problems...sure my duramax has had its share of injector problems..but there warrantied through 200k...in cali you can get a way(so far)on the pre-08 straight pipe exhaust programers ect. cause no smog law...here in vegas they test(sure....lol)

BE SURE TO CHECK W/ DEALERS IN VEGAS RE: BUYING AND REGISTERING IT IN CALI...IM SURE CALI WILL BONE YOU SOMEHOW BUYING AN OUT OF STATE VEHICLE...IT MAY NOT BE WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN...

i just don't want to pay all the bs taxes and fees. >:D

I like the Chevies for looks. I think the fords may be heavier duty. I dunno about deisels, Nordies hauls ass.

You'll need to have a resident register it in that state under their name (in NV). You won't be able to reg it in CA w/o paying taxes. It's not as easy as "buy there and bring it here" -or we all would do that. Slap an extra 10-11% on those prices for ttl... sucks huh?

then buy it in phoenix
you will have to pay sales tax for whatever state you reg it in.

i have the 07.5 chevy new body style as far as i know this was the year of the body change.i love it and wish i would have bought it a long time ago

I have an 08 F250 and love it. Pulls my 1986, 26' fifth wheel trailer like theres nothing behind it. The one thing that really sucks in good ole cali, is that they raised the registration fees. Just got mine and it is 800 bucks :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: that hurts :banghead: :banghead: good ole arnold :mad: :mad: :mad: so if ya can register it in another state DO SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

05 - early 07 had the good motors chromeys late 04 also has the good motor...although me n him have never raced to find out...i beat a 350z off the line and up to 102mph before it pulled away and my governer kicked in...my dads 05 ran like a bat out of hell too...his g/fs 06 is ideal i wish i had her truck, but i dont...

i'm more of a chevy guy plus the allison trannys are bulletproof :o
i'm not opposed to the ford's though thats why im looking at both ;D

The last I heard the sales tax in AZ was nearly the same as CA depending on what city/county you're in.
I'm pretty sure that Oregon still has 0.00 sales tax if you can get an address up there.
From what I've heard from some of my customers that are full time RV'ers, it is getting difficult to just have a po box for an address. The Feds are wanting proof of residency.
