Got to talking and he builds boats I guess. So I asked him if he can just build me my motor and I'll just send him my parts. He seems like he knows what he's doing. Very helpful. Ill keep you guys updated

Im not trying to run over anyone or talk crap about anyones business, but if this is the Adam from hawaiian just cover your bases. Ive heard of lots of shady stuff from him and his dad

Adam and his dad Wayne use to have team Hawaiian boats n i think Hawaiian power boats and like uncle Bobby said make sure u do ur research they are not straight shooters by far. I know kroggy was gonna get a new team Hawaiian and all they where worried about was laying for the boat cash in advance!!!!! If it's the same Adam there in Corona not to far from danna amd shockwave Adam also shares a building with the owner of commander boats. Just my .02 brotha be safe and ask tons of questions.

It probably is!He's charging me 850 for a .60 over block he has for sale, he's giving me a crank and he's gonna hot tank, hone. Ima give send him my pistons and rods and cam. And put new bearings, new mains, new cam bearings and new rings. And short block it. I am gonna go pick it up personally. I was just planning on shipping him my pistons n rods with cam.. he says he stands behind his work and word. But now I'm scared lol. I'm on a tight budget and I just trying to get my float back in water this season

In the same complex as your guy is an OG builder named Karl. He has been in business in Corona for nearly 40 years and in the current shop for 30. He is in the same business park as your guy is. Give him a call and see what Karl says about building you a stout motor.

I took my Toyota 4x4 22R to be rebuilt by a place that advertised 100,000 mile warranty for a $1400 rebuild. Turns out they build 'em like they do in the outback of Mexico. Never take the block out of the truck, hone everything in the truck and put it back together. When it wouldn't even drive home across town and he wouldn't honor squat, I went to small claims court with him. He already had 30 cases pending, never showed up, and apparently nothing is in his name so I couldn't go after the business or him personally. But he did run a half page ad in the Auto Trader so he must be good right?

Surely there is a better guy for the job closer to you than that? Where are you? I would find it extremely doubtful that an engine builder is going to turn over a motor that has never been broken in, to you (a non-professional) to install and run in properly. It is way to easy to wipe a cam, or run it lean, or something that causes the thing to grenade. I really doubt he will stand behind that motor the second it leaves his hands.
There are quality guys up and down the state. Many of them advertise on this site and support the sport. Don't spend your money without doing some simple research.

I got my original guy that does all my machine work. I usually do all my work but with my new job, I hardly have time to do anything so I was gonna just have them do it. But nvm on this seductive speed and marine. I'ma just stay loyal to my machinist and have him do my BBC. Rather spend the extra hundred bucks then send my money to someone I don't knowthat's a good plan for sure 👍👍👍
