not to mention you dont need gaskets with the nylon ones ;)
-
no I didn't know that thanks Brad

You sure you don't need gaskets with the plastic ones? I have what I believe to be a 4* wedge, black ABS, or nylon Idk.. I'm gonna get some longer stainless bolts at Lowes and I want to try it out when I take the boat local for a shakedown before the March trip ...thought I had to find or make some gaskets for it.
I already gots a hyd place diverter and high perf mini droop. Curious to see if it will make a diff at all when planed out having lower thrust. Though im sure it would take another couple hundred horsepower to let this turd run a little dryer.

If u notice the bolts arent going in perfectly straight !! You might wanna use studs instead of bolts.. Just get a rod of 5/16ths stainless and cut ur own, then u can use some locking nuts too

x2 don't use bolts

Or just make your own offset washers to compensate the 4 degrees.
-
Yea, cuz its still on a 4* angle whether studded or bolted..
But how? I suppose I can gun-drill some 5/8" aluminum round stock with the drill press then get a new bandsaw blade and cutting.. might take about a six-pack.
For the studs I can prob just get a length of 5/16" stainless all thread and red loctite them in.

4 aint shit....stud 9.5 degrees then lets talk. I have over 18 degrees up, not including diverter.
**leave the omar-ish comments out of the above.
If you stud the bowl, you don't run the risk of cross threading the bowl. Because of the wedge, the bolts will want to cross thread. Just go pick up a stick of 5/16 stainless and play it safe. #smart

Previous owner had used the wedge different ways before he put the mini droop and new diverter on and it shows. All the bolt holes are a little sloppy accept for the one I had to heli-coil after the pump rebuild...
