I am currently in the process of choosing the type of Jet-Boat that i will buy in about a year. I need some advice from you guys... I am not mechanically inclined, i have a wife and by then my daughter will be about 2 years old, and i want to haul ass while staying safe... I dont want something over 6K but on the same token i dont want a "project" boat. I want a trun key river ready good looking clean boat. What are your recommendations for my situation. Also, any good websites to shop around on. I live in San Diego. Thanks in advance!!!

youll need a mind more technical than mine but probably something to do with resizing smaller it usually is

i kno everybody looks at it but craigs list is amazing sometimes... i found my boat off it.. traded the guy my seadoo for it.. straight across.... then i found out that the steering was jammed up.. the guy gave me 200 to fix it... so in other words there are deals out there everywhere

Expect to become mechanically inclined once you buy a boat. Most everything is easy to get to and easy to understand and expensive to have someone else do it for you. And they need work all the time. But they are fun as hell when they are even 75% of being "right".
And forget about the "want to haul ass" part when there is a new mom involved >:D I know all about that first hand. If you decide you can live with nice and slow with lots of freeboard call me in a year. I'll make you a hell of a deal on the Montara.

X2 on what GC says though. Although I can understand looking around, if you're not gonna buy til next year, why look now? Second, I would start looking HARD in September, near the end of the "season" (My season is 365, but most aren't). That's when the deals start really appearing normally. Although I have found smoking deals recently, Brad's got another one that caught my eye.........I need rehab, seriously...... :sly:

Actually I like the boat, it just doesn't have enough seating capacity for the length. If the Spectra runs halfway decent I would like to finish it, which will give me a nice daycruiser and then start working on my Horizon. Betcha forgot about that one huh? You aren't the only one with this "problem". :screwy:
Plus my boat is Mom approved. Hell its big enuf for a playpen below deck.

x2 this is true.. i havent even put my boat in the water yet... carb problems.. but o know the ins and out of that boat arlready
