Very pricey, was hoping for a slightly used one from a parts boat. Just may have to buy new.

Mine had an electric valve when it was new. The guy I bought the boat from said the electric one took a shit so he just put a T valve in its place. Both tanks drain almost evenly when you're running it. I ran close to low fuel one time, so I went to hose man and bought valves to shut off the empty tank in such event.

Since then, having the valves... I'd rather not have to worry about fuel, especially since I'm almost always boating in current.. keep the tanks full! If I'm getting a burger and a beer or four, I put a small fortune in the tank to make sure I get from needles to Laughlin. Nothing worse than having 1/10th of each tank left and someone wants to ski or wakeboard before the boat goes on the trailer.

A river trip from socal for a few days is never less than a grand for me. Just depends on what you do and where you go .. I spent 40 bucks on valves and I've never turned them because I buy fuel when I can...

My valve is mounted at the rear of my boat and I have a engine cover. It's just easier to flip a switch on the dash when when tank 1 is empty

I have a valve for an 80 something chevy truck that im gonna use. Was somewhere around 40 bucks  from Napa and the only reason I went that way was because when flipping the switch to each tank it switches sending units as well to display the tank in use. Most other valves I found didn't and it made it easier for me so I didn't have to run more wires and add another switch because I already had a switch on the dash to check both tanks

my southwind had a universal one like this...

I use one like this also. They say there not for marine use ...but for $20 there cheep enough to keep an extra one in the goody box.
And if it dose go bad in the middle of lake/river a flat head screw driver can fix it ...couple hose clamps and then just direct draw till you get back to truck

Just need to search for a wiring diagram.  I would need to read each tank separate as you mentioned.

Gil, what I did was put a separate toggle switch to change the gauge reading from each tank. Obviously, you will need senders in both tanks.

I used a double pole double throw switch, one pole runs the transfer switch and the other runs the pink sender wire.

I used the Cole Hersey valve.
