Title: Glastron Carlson 23'
Post by: electrowoman on April 07, 2009, 08:46:51 PM
My son wants a boat like mine, prefferably a jet with a 460.   The closer to PA the better.

Any leads would be appreciated.

I appreciate the help.  We've found several with a leg.... stern drives.  The jet would make
his day.

:o  $11,000 for a 31 year old boat.....  I paid $6500 for mine brand new....it goes against the old adage that a boat is a hole in the water to throw money into.

It is a nice boat other than the color though.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Repo's right, this guy had a 2nd hull that he was trying to give away. You might call and find out what happened to that hull.

In a perfect world he wants a great hull and gel coat, wonderful interior and a dead motor.  We wil then put in our engine.

In a not so perfect world we'll look at them all.

We don't want a complete rebuild and prefer not to have to paint.   He wants it ready for the water in 30 days.  That's when we HOPE warm weather will be here.  He does NOT want to spend the summer
trying to piece one together.

So that's the plan... :sly:

So I just happened to drive by where I had seen your same hull. Its sitting uncovered in front of a guys house down the street from me. It looks oxidized and it 2 tone tan. I couldnt tell because I drove by at 45 but I think it may have an I/O, cant be sure...but I will look again tomorrow.

Yeah then bag the free hull here in Portland. It had more resto than just a motor. Not to mention the logistics between OR and PA are a challenge.

I had hoped someone selling a CV23 would be a member here.  I should have known boat people
hang here.   If you have a CV23 and are dumb enough to sell it, you aren't boat people!

Keep looking guys,  we decided not to bid on the blue one on Ebay.   No motor, questionable gel coat,
dye job interior and no power.

I figured to do it right we'd have at least another $12000 in the boat on top of buying it.
So keep on looking,  and thank you very much for the help.

 ;D

A lady I work with has one that her husband has had since almost new.  I've prodded a few times about selling it, but he doesn't sell anything (many old and new cars, 2 boats...).  The pics I've seen, it is very clean and probably needs nothing (knowing him).

Would you be interested in a road trip to CA for the right boat?  I'll keep pushing the idea if you want.

Good luck with the search  ;D

I went by the boat that I saw again yesturday. It is certainly a Glastron Carlson (Still has the name plates on each side). Nobody was home and the gate was locked but I will try again.

Not sure if it has a jet or not.

Did they come with Jets and I/O?
