Title: Need a 4 bolt BBC block ASAP
Post by: obnoxious001 on May 02, 2009, 10:54:16 PM
I have an engine customer on a very strict budget who im building a 496 BBC for, but he would like a 4 bolt block instead of the 2 bolt he currently has.  Needs to be able to clean at .060.  The rest of his forged bottom end is all new, so I hate to see him "settle" for a 2 bolt block.

If anyone has something, I will have him complete the deal with you so you know it isn't me trying to turn a profit on one.

Thanks Tom, I have no problem running the Gen 6 castings, not sure why some guys don't like them.

He already has an all new MK IV forged 496 kit and a fixed budget that he can't exceed or his wife will end up in jail for murder.

I figured a quick post might find someone to help him out, I have a few but none that would fit his bore or budget requirements, and I hate to have everything else "right" and put it in a 2 bolt.  He can't afford to have the 2 bolt block converted either.  A few weeks ago it seemed like 4 bolt blocks were everywhere, but I didn't have the time and space to go grab them up.

We went ahead and assembled the engine with a 2 bolt, supposed to test wtih him at Puddingstone this week.  The photos of the build on on River Dave's in the Kustom Engine section.

I would still buy a block to have here if one came along.
