Anyone got a set of good heads laying around, just found out both of mine are cracked. I wonder who the genius was that put small valved smog heads on a boat motor? Im also selling a 96 honda civic to fund the new motor, Unless someone has a boat they will trade for it ;D Well i had to ask

Thought I may have some that I was going to part out but since I got my 455 running I won't be parting it out after all.

I have some that I'm going to put on E-Bay but they are F heads and start at $1000/pr up to almost $7K for one pair. I guess collectors want them to make their 442 show cars perfect or something ???

I don't want to highjack the thread but a question for The Chaz; my 455 has K heads; know anything (pro/con) about K's?
-
Nevermind its being chitcanned. Im going with a 454 BBC ;D

The K's and the Ka's are the correct marine heads. The diffrence between the K and the Ka is that the Ka has hardened valve seats cause it was manufactured after lead was removed from gasoline. Both are considered big valved.

Sounds like a better plan.

Thanks; mine are Ka.
Rod provided me with some info on them but I was just looking for a little more.

Hardin Marine engine mounts, the front mount broke. Can it be welded? and the pump is a Jucuzzi WJ that was just swapped out last summer with the Energizer kit from American Turbine. ;D

I'm a little waisted right now, thisa is going to take me some time >:D
Yea, it can be welded. If you do go to a BBC, get either Hardin Marine or Nicson engine mounts, you won't have to move the stringer feet!, make your self a pair of 1/2" spacers, one for each side of the engine, for the front mount, and that BBC will be in. ;)

Sanford(aka Rod) dont you have all the part in your back yard for him?

Thanks, but this boat is going back to the 455 olds, after i rebuild it and find a set of heads. Now the other boat i just picked up has the 454 in it but it to needs a rebuild and a pump kit. Has not ran in the last nine years. It has the nicson motor mounts also ;D. So i can weld it, great that will save me another $175 what is it aluminum?
Thanks for the help, when i start this pump kit i will probably be on the phone and on this forum more than i am in the boat. First time wanna do it right ;D
