Possibly looking for either an orange and yellow or a yellow and orange Challenger Hull with a berkeley "E" pump must have good floor, stringers, original gel coat, etc. Let me know what is out there. Thanks. by the way I am not looking for any other type of hull or colors. I also am not interested in a complete boat, just a good hull if someone has one laying around.
This pic is what I am possibly looking for either in these colors or the reverse.

Must be rare as hen's teeth lmao
-
I know where this exact color scheme Challenger is but don't think the owner wants to sell. Boat runs around Big River most every summer weekend.
-
Cool, I have an original one already that in great shape but looking for a stripped hull in good shape for a build
-
Still possibly looking if any one has one or sees one out there 🚤

Looks like I have been able to locate my dad's original 1977 orange and yellow Challenger he bought new! The guy says it's been sitting in the back of his workshop. I have not been able to see it yet but he's going to call when he has a minute to drag it out so I can get it back into the family 😁👍
-
That's rad good luck!!!! Would love to see another one on the water!!!

Congrats on finding that. There have been a lot of threads on these forums about guys looking for their dad's or grandpa's old boat. I still got our boat that I grew up with.
Glad to hear it worked out for you.
It looks to be in great shape. Does it need any work?

Yea me too been looking for it for a while. Plan to swap the white seats that are in it with the original ones I have in my other boat. I don't care for the white in the orange boat but should look ok in the white / brown challenger I have.

Nothing major a little TLC here and there but most boats need that anyways.

Thanks, I don't think he ever imagined he would be sitting in it again after buying it 40 years ago...We used the hell out of this boat for 20 years lol just got lucky the owner for the past 20 years did not use it much at all.

Motor swap done. The all original 460 now in the orange boat. Well all original except the HEI distributor. But still all original Harmin Marine never rebuilt just stored 30 plus years.

Thanks and yeah just about got this one to exactly as it was in 1977 off the showroom floor. All that is different now is the starting wheel, HEI, and they cut the headers short while it was in the other owners hands for a few years. My other Challenger sits on the same exact trailer but it's brown. The yellow trailer has seen many many more miles so a trailer swap is going to happen as well.
I know California has the yellow and black plates you can get now. Need to check into if the yellow and blue plates are still available that's what the trailer had originally. If so I would like to get the yellow and blue plate with the same numbers and letters it had originally also.

Nice ,
Mines still sitting on the o.g. competitive trailer being re painted and re wired ( first and last trailer I'll do) I still got the same motor that it came with and o.g. gauges had to replace the pump with a dominator Berkeley combo as the 12g would unload pretty bad at higher rpm due to a lot of top end upgrades

Very nice! I think anyone with enough cash can build an awesome boat but but very few vintage jets can be kept that way
