The best place place I've found still will make me buy 12.5 feet of the very expensive stuff. Other places are saying 50 feet.
I need 2, maybe 3 feet max. Anyone have any they want to sell?

honestly, 2-3 feet is too much.....get yourself some 4 1/2" aluminum tube to cover the distance between the exhaust tips and the collector....use as little rubber hose as possible.......ask marcsrollin why.

Actually I figured a foot a side, plus a little extra on the throw away (x2 = 2-3 feet) . I'll take some real measurments tomorrow.... Is that length ok?
Also, anyone good at welding aluminum?

Damn, I bought some hose at 9:30 (about 20 minutes before you posted this) from go2marine and went to bed. Would have rather bought it from you. Oh well, next time.

yo brad wait...why??? did it melt? i bought some 4" OD for my TT headers, but they will be water injected...will they melt at idle??

i wont name any names, but someone here had an issue with their water flow to the injection lines causing the exhaust hoses to melt causing his boat to almost sink.
you want the least amount of hose between the header and the exhaust tip....so use an aluminum tube and use the hose as couplers.
of course, this is a safty percausion for an extreme situation (which has happnened) and isnt required or manditory, but its how i would do it if i had TT exhaust

niiice! well, i have 2.5' of hose to work with, so i have more than enough w/ both ways. so where would i get the tube? it would have to be 3.5" tube right?

i need some as well. i think i need maybe 6 inches per side. can we get a group by discount ;D

Not sure if you were reffering to me but I got a plugged line to my logs/riser on one side and almost sank when the rubber marine exhaust line caught fire and melted. That was the single most stressful boating experience I have had (and I have had a few :sly:) Water fills a boat REAL fast thru a hole that size. This was a huge factor in my switching to OT exhaust (that and the performance increase >:D)

I'll tell you when I ran from sandbar to the naked turtle last Thursday, beached the boat and saw the exhaust hose smoking, I thought of this thread and how lucky I was. What did you do to keep the boat from sinking?
That night, I removed all regulation, now lots o water and everythings stays cool....
So far I've seen a max of 18 psi with a single 5/8th inlet, splitting 5/8ths to the logs, 2x 1/2 inch to the heads, out of block 2x 5/8th's at my self imposed limit of 4100 RPM.

I got a screwdriver from under my seat and loosened the hose clamps engine and transome sides, then slid the remaining hose as far onto the riser as I could. It slowed to a small stream. Then jumped into icy water and swam my boat to shore.

Your lucky you caught it in time!!! Here is what happened to mine labor day last year when my bassett t valve got stuck!!

Lucky for me it was only three miles back to the dock when it happened and I just hauled ass all the way and ran the boat up on the launch ramp. You wont sink if you dont stop moving!!

Wow that looks ugly! yeah go fast enough and the exhaust holes come above the water line ;) Mine would not start back up ( I shut it off to see what was causing the smoke) the water level had come up into the starter and shorted it out.

Yep, simpler is better. I'm happy now I have nothing in the way anymore - now I just have to worry about getting clogged with debris.
