Well after my long debate I am stuffing a 454 in the Tahiti. Gotta buy a Sea Doo for the woman so I am building a mild BB. I am looking for a good set of heads oval or rect. dont have a preference. And a good carb. Already have a new crank,rods, and some other stuff. Let me know if you have anything

I might have a set of oval heads for you. Fresh from the shop and maged ok.

Also a 10qt bbc oil pan that belongs to a friend of mine but he wants to sell.

I have a 10 qt. BBC Gen IV also that will be/is for sale. It's got cracks in the windage tray that I have not completely finished fixing yet. The pan itself is fine.

Let me know on those heads.I have a set of domed pistons I might use so they will need to be open chamber. If there closed chamber I might be able to get my hands on some flat tops and use them as well

I'll go in the garage and check the heads , make sure that oil pan will clear. When I first built my bbc in my last boat I was told by all the marine mechanics that the pan has to be 7 inches deep in order to clear so I bought a 9 inch pan and ended up having to sell it for a loss before I actually listened , and went and bought a 7 inch pan.

Once the windage tray is fixed I'll want about $125 for it, it's Moroso 10 qt. 7 3/4" deep. Marcs friend's (and mine) oil pan is a Dooley Enterprises jet boat oil pan, mint condition, well over $500 new, 10 qt. 7 1/2" deep, waiting on Marc for the price...
You can use domed pistons in a 454 with oval port closed chamber heads. They came stock that way in the late 60's and early 70's. The '69 Corvette 427 4 barrel had 101cc closed chamber heads with domed pistons (117cc I think) and gave a 10.25:1 compression ratio. With flat topped pistons it'd be somewhere around 8.00:1.

$80 Fresh from the machine shop and maged ok. I have all the springs and valves if you want them , I'll put them back togeather for you.

On that boat you also did a engine swap changing engine brands and drilled new holes in the stringers. I kept the existing holes in my stringers, I have a 7 1/2" deep pan in mine (exactly like the ? 7" ? pan you used?) and I have 1/2" clearance under my pan.

On the heads I would need them put together unless they need the seats cut etc?? What do they need or are they completly ready to go as far as machining etc. Let me know or give me a call 209-261-8554. Also they will have to be shipped up to Merced I wonder what thats gonna cost??

As far as machining goes I have no idea. We just dropped off a whole motor and they maged everything , And gave it back in pieces.

Water logs and snails. Harman Marine. I have some other parts I tore off the jet boat, I'll look. Mine was a Gen V 454.

I have a couple 600 holley dp's if you plan on going to a dual carb TR setup.

I have a bellhousing for a 3pt. mount, and a 750 holly dp, both cheap.
