I used an SBC, short water pump, single groove crank pulley like for a '65, 327, o'rielly's had it in chrome on the shelf, 20 bux

The balancer bolt has to go in first, then the pulley 3 bolt pattern, its the same pattern for BBC and SBC

Jegs and summit both have aluminum ones for cheap, too. I used an aluminum on my 454, dont remember if it was SBC or BBC
that was 5 years ago...

Just fyi.

A small block and a big block have different size bores.  So there is a chance when using the small block pulley on a big block, there is a chance it won't be very centered because it will have to center on the bolts, not the hole in the balancer.

I did it (used a small block pulley on a454) with some shouldered bolts that I found in a can of hardware that came from who knows where.

Thanks for your guys help. Wasn't sure if the pulley was going to be something special for boats because the pulley needs to be pretty much flush with the balancer with where my alternator sits. I will have to take a look at O' Reilly's to see what they have
