Title: WTB-fuel tanks
Post by: crewchief22 on July 12, 2008, 06:49:12 PM: I noticed I had a fuel leak from my left tank on the 4th of July but didn't get the interior pulled out until today, and found the filler neck broken almost off the tank :o

The right side tank has been welded previously also.

So, I'm in the market for some side tanks for the Hondo. Aluminum or stainless is Ok, and they don't have to be in perfect condition because they are mostly hidden behind the upholstery.

I bought them on ebay awhile back for the Rogers, but I am going back to stock tanks for now. I've got about 500.00 into them with shipping, you can have them for that if you pick them up. My little boat used to crush the fuel hoses below the filler necks all the time, found out the deck was basically smashing down on the tops of the tanks causing all kinds of Goofy problems. Once I bulkheaded the hull sides, the boat actually picked up some handling and no more tank problems, I can get pics if needed.

Took about 1/2 a day and came out pretty cool.

That is a good idea, considering that my wife drives the boat like an off shore race boat in the chop at parker.

Give me a day or two to think about it, I would love stainless but I don't have the spare cash available at this time.

$500.00 is a good price though.
