The fit has nothing to do with how much they are worth! Your gonna tell me the price you can sell them for changes if they don't fit your particular boat? Every set of round tanks I have sold on ebay ( $ sets now ) have gone for around 350 to 400 dollars a set.

Like these? I was thining of going to tanks like yours if they will fit. Mine are Imco's which are one of the best built and are perfect in  everyway. They just need to have the glue stripped off em and a polish or just recarpet or whatever

These are 44" long and 8" diameter. They do have more shine to them but they have been sitting in the shed for months ;)

Thanks I did the whole thing myself. It is the bed liner kit made by Dupli Color. It went on pretty easy. There is 3 layers of mat and cloth under there to. It took 3 weekends.

How hard is it to keep clean ???

My rhino liner in my truck collected dirt in its pores, sort of speak. Can you just hose it out?

It cleans up real well. It comes with a texture roller but I just used a brush and left it smooth so I didnt have that problem. Get the kit from Wal Mart is was $50. I paid like $68 at AutoZone. I was told to use the Dulpicolor cause it has a good amount of polyester resin which is what is used in boats anyways. I dinged it pretty good and just brushed some more on and u cant even tell.

Who can give me some names of places to get fuel tanks?  If the one's Jim has dont fit i will have no choice but to sell these and buy some new or used one's :o  for the price of new tanks it might be cheaper and easier to find another boat with them already in it ;)

Or even fix the Omega >:D

How would i measure to find the fit for a tank? as you can see the round tanks dont fit. I dont know how they had them mounted before ???  I do know they were mounted ( bolted ) to the Hull!

Get some muffler tubing from the parts store to make the transition from the fill to the tank and then rubber hose it at each end.

Hey , don't let it get the best of you! Any project worth doing is worth doing right. It takes a lot of patience to get it done , trust me I have done it more than once!
If you have to take a short break and then get back at it , you'll love it in the long run.

 2sav,
Dont let the boat win the battle !!!   You have put lots of work into this project dont give-up now !!  Just take a little break,  stand back and look at it in a few days and you will find a solution to the problem.  If the brackets are a problem Imco sells new ones ,  2 diferent styles,  http://www.imcomarine.com/pages/tanks.html .  Beerjets idea about the curved tubing for the filler necks sounds like a good idea.  If your worried about mounting the tanks through the hull ?  Dont be, lots of boats were built that way,  my Daytona for one.

Trying to put together something someone ealce took apart can be a pain in the ###,  like a puzzle with no picture [attachimg=1] .  But when your done ( sitting on the river looking at the [attachimg=2] and enjoying a cold one ) you will be able to say,  Yea, I built this !  ;D ;D

2Sav,
Check out this site http://www.custommarinefueltanks.com/ they quoted me $670.00 for a set of tapered tanks like you are going to need.  Or, if you can get access to a tig and weld them out yourself, you can do it for less than $300.00.  That is what we are doing for the Kona, but if I had it to do over again, I would pony up the cash because aluminum is a pain in the Azz to weld weld on.  If you decide to build some yourself, post on it or PM me and I can offer advice from what I have learned over the past month.

if you call IMCO and tell them the type of hull you have ... they probably have a tank pattern for the hull already. they made most of the tanks for all of the boats we run for the mfg's when they were new.

and if they dont have the tank you need...imco makes custom tanks...and they even show you how to make the measurements.

Thanks for the support guy's but This is not a last minute decision on this project boat, i have given it ALOT of thought last couple weeks and it just does not make any sense to continue with a boat that will take three times the money to get back in the water again compared to my original boat.

Yeah the boat (Omega) thats in my Avatar and sig line is the original problem child. We blew the 455 that was in it and said screw it, and it just sat in the backyard collecting dust. I wanted something that would look cool and a big motor, soooo............ thats where the Fantasy came into play. But its no longer feasible :(  Most people here know that i spend tooooo much time thinking and not really see what reality is, Reality is, i have a boat with a new Energizer kit Jacuzzi pump, new interior, carpet, bimini top and a nice trailer to put it to bed on.

If i would have pulled my head out my AZZ months ago, my boat would be complete with the money i have already spent on trying to bring the Fantasy back to life.

Anybody want to buy a project boat ;D

CHEAP >:D
