Well I have 2 dizzys that are not in use and both are not marine distributors. One is a Mallory that's free but that needs new electronics about 130 to repair and a good gm hei that id let go for 50. But j&m speed center in riverside has msd hei's for about 150 right now.

Btw bbc and sbc use the same dizzys

Thanks for the info, i read that HEI's were not good for marine applications because of the spark curve, is that correct? if not i might just order an HEI from summit.

Couldn't answer that question honestly but I would assume that they are the same, hei's just have the coil in the cap

Thats what i thought as well. I figure as long as the timing is locked out at about 3000 RPM it should be fine.

You can also change springs and weights to change spark curve
