After battling with AAA, Geico, and three independent brokers for the past few months I called Nikki for insurance help. First off she actually answered her phone. Seems like a given, however I did not receive the same courtesy from some of the brokers I was referred to nor did I get return calls. For me I had a hard time getting straight answers then in the end when referred to underwriting, "we don't cover that type of boat".

She is very professional and made things very easy and her prices were great. She took care of both boats and my river property.

Save yourself some time...call her if you are looking for quality service, rates, and coverage.

By all means give Nikki a call.
She is very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
She asked me about engine horse power. I replied it has never been on a dyno.
I told her the engine spins a stainless 'A' impellor to 6,000 RPMs.
There was a moment of silence and then a reply. Well according to the charts I would say it is 750 HP. We can do this Dave, no problem.
I feel we have great coverage at a fair price.

This is good news. I need to pick up new insurance myself.

Not sure if Nikki frequents this board much and slightly off topic question, but... which insurance picks up the bill if boat is damaged while being towed. Is it the tow vehicle insurance that pays or the boat policy?

I am assuming you mean, what if your truck hurts the boat while you are towing it? You would be filing a claim with your auto insurance against yourself for hitting your boat. I am trying to think of a scenario but lets say you backed into the boat, you would file a collision claim through your auto insurance.

I think he means- which Ins. Co, auto or boat policy, would I contact, IF somebody rear ended the boat and destroyed the jet, out on the highway/city street?

I had $100K On-Hook for the wrecker, only covered customers car.
Auto policy, probably, But I'm no Ins. agent.

Sorry, I more clearly understand your question now. If a car hit your boat you would have 2 options, if you get at least the License Plate off of the truck that hit you, you could file a claim with your insurance company against the truck. If you do this you can pay your deductible, get the reapirs fixed and your boat insurance company will go after the driver to reimburse your deductible. Otherwise you can file a claim with the drivers insurance company but then you're at their mercy of how long it takes to determine liability and authorize the repairs at the facility of your choice.

Long story short, the driver at fault would have a claim against their auto policy.

Thanks for the reply, Nikki. I guess I was just interested on which policy, truck or boat, is the primary when the boat is hooked to the tow vehicle.

Just got off the Phone with Nikki. Without one hiccup she was able to get me insured within 30 mins of my first call to her. depends on how much coverage you want or need . I went with a higher end total loss coverage and is only running around $50 a month.

It depends on value, coverage limits, HP speed and a few other things but average is between $50-100 a month. Quotes are totally free so if you'd like to see what the price on your boat would be feel free to call and just get an idea.

Nikki insures our boats. Last summer my boat burned to the ground in my buddies garage. I called in my claim and called Nikki. My claim was paid out in 9 days. Can’t say enough good things about Bostick insurance agency. Bostick racing engines and Bostick insurance are both hard to beat.
