Camping @ Long Beach Races........
« on: July 25, 2008, 04:09:56 PM »
Just got off the phone with Ross, there will be camping allowed, Sat night ONLY, you can roll in early Sat AM and set up shop, the shit part is that it's on the opposite side of the racecourse from the pits. I'm still debating on taking the trailer.................

You can usually hook up with someone with a golf cart for transportation to the pit side. I've heard you see the races better from the other side.......I know v drive Jerry gets some awesome shots from over there. I'll have a little pit bike if anyone needs to use it, but I'm on the pit side so I'm not sure how that'll work. At least you can bring you own booze/beer.........Ray

Here's the skinny on the camping. In the past camping was permitted on both sides. Last year Ross had problems with some drunk campers making noise after 10:00 and the locals complained.

Unless you're part of Rosses security force (very few) you're limited to saturday night only which is better than last years gig.

My guess is, the overnighters will need to get there early.

I don't know what it costs as I have never had to pay. There are zero hookups and zero showers so bring an RV full of water and the generator gas tank full.

These are pics from last year..

I snapped this pic just before heading out. You can't park this way for camping you need to back in.

If you need pepperoni for your pizza, find lilrick on the pit side during the day.  :P

I plan on bringing my RV down on Saturday but I live in this area, and know that its gonna be a madhouse getting in and around those streets by Belmont Shore and Marine Stadium. Hmmmmm.....wonder what time we have to get there Staurday to stake out some spots? I bet they go pretty darn quick! Good news is that Long Beach is pretty slack on RV parking, no real rules per say. So if we cant get a spot near the track, you can always park close by to snooze!
