Well...I did a poor job of posting the pics, but at least they are there. The random frog hitched a ride all the way back down to SoCal. I have several questions.
First, can anyone confirm what model of Eliminator I have? Like I said, I think its an SS Bubbledeck. Also, it has a delta pad bottom.
It came with an MSD 8350 distributor with a vacuum advance, but it's plugged up. Can anyone shed any light on that? Should I hook up the vacuum advance line to the carb?

The impeller has some dings in it. It didn't seem to affect performance, but what do you guys think? Before firing the motor on the trailer I replaced the gear oil in the bowl and greased the trust bearing. The oil held in the bowl, but after running the boat I noticed it slowly leaking out through the nozzle. I pulled the hand hole cover and made sure the impeller didn't have any play. Based on my reading the tailshaft bearing is failing since the gear oil is leaking, but since the impeller shaft doesn't have play is it safe to run? Or, does the bushing need to be replaced before I hit the water again?

Disclaimer: I don't know a lot about anything but just a little about a lot. Most of it I learned by reading these forums for the last 10 years.
It might have an official name, but most people don't really refer to that hull as a certain model. Just a bubbledeck.
The reason the vacuum might be plugged, is because the advance is mechanically locked out. I think it has something to do with the amount of vacuum in a jet boat motor. Maybe ask the previous owner.
The impellor has definetely seen better days. I believe the leading edge should be sharp and even. It also looks like some cavitation on the face of the blades. Does it have a loader or just a rock grate in the opening of the intake? When you eventually rebuild your pump, maybe look into an inducer.
There is a seal that should keep that oil in the bowl. If there is no play in the shaft, the bowl bearings might be good and just the seal is bad. Another possibility is that it is water cooled. Ive read were some guys let the water go into the bowl, I think by not running a seal.
Also, If you haven't yet, make sure your water lines are all good.
Like I said, I don't know a lot. Just thought I'd post some ideas and maybe you can search and get a better idea of what you need.
