75 eliminator

Hey everyone this is my first jet boat and im new to this. i have a 1975 eliminator bubble deck with a big block ford 468. hit me up and let me know what you think. the few times i have taken it out i had a blast. ran fantastic and cant wait for more trips>

well i took i t out last summer a few times getting things dialed in runs great had a blast on lake mohave went to the river in laughlin once but way to many people on the river wasnt the best running conditions.the boat has a berk 12 j b -a pump dont know a whole bunch about boats i traded a race car for it concidering i could use a boat a whole lot more.. when i traded the boat had only 19 hours on it after restore from what i was told now it has 32 on it...took it to havasu once really rough conditions on lake but as always i had fun as all hell

:beer:i dont know if you could tell by the pics but i do have the front motor cover but just had it off for i dont know why but it all matches.. just threw in a small stereo system in she sounds pretty good for what i have invested.. hit me up and let me know anything else i could tell you about it..

ya i hear ya on the laughlin part being horrible. i dont even go that far up. go south a couple miles and its much much better. sounds like you scored on the trade. you have a place diverter on it? anyways good score man. im just down the hill in fort mohave, maybe ill see you out there sometime

yeah maybe see ya out there sometime as far as the place diverter it dont have one i would love to put one on bot money is kinda tight.not to sure if i came out better on the trade part but have had more fun with the boat.what i trade was a 1989 fox body mustang with a big block that ran 1040s at 130mph in the 1/4 i just no i had alot of money tied up in the car.so i really am new to jet boats and dont really no the value of thems so if anyone could help i would appreciate it thanks

Welcome to the sight and congrats on the boat, I think you did well there. I just got my first jet boat back in December and I've learned alot since then. I think you'll find that this site is very informative and most members are always more than willing to help out. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

hey guys i got a quick question..when servicing the pump on the bowl theres 2 plugs well in my case theres one plug and one grease zert

.im not sure what to do just want to make sure i do it wright.any help would be greatly appreciated an any thing else im supposed to do.thanks

Looks like the last guy was using a grease gun to lube the bowl bearings. There are a few different ways of lubing those bearings, Berkeley says to remove both plugs and squirt 90w gear oil in one till it flows out the other side and then replace the plugs. What you have to do is remove the square plug and pump some grease throught the zerk until you see clean grease come out the other side. The problem with this is the forcing of grease can put too much pressure on your bowl seal inside and blow it out, just go easy on it when greasing that zerk and you will be fine.

Mine is setup the same way and I'm in the process of rebuilding it due to that seal, among other things, being trashed.

One of mine (JE) is setup that way too. I just run regular grease in it. Haven't heard of any special grease for this application, and have only ever had to put in a squirt or two. Trick is to remember to pull the other plug out and pump SLOWLY........

Bowl comes off here next week or so, we'll see how well the stuff worked for 2 seasons.......... $:-\$

I've been running grease in my bowl for years and it has a blown seal...Thats why I started using grease. I use red grease in all places ...bearing buddies(hubs), thrust bearing, steering cable, and bowl.
