Anyone know the History of this PlaceCraft?
« on: September 11, 2014, 09:45:00 AM »
It's a Gen 2, All Rigging is Gold Anno and a lot of it is 1 off custom, Calgo Steering, R Intake, Capped, Gel Graphix continue on to the bottom of the hull, Balsa Checker floors with African Mahogany inlays throughout, Trailer has 13" Westerns on it and has Blown Gas Jet hand painted on it. Has a Gold Plate on top of the pump extension for the cleanout that has a long prayer engraved in it that has something to do with flying safely, supposedly had a blown hemi that Kuhl and Mickey Thompson had a hand in building in it. Looks like it hasn't seen much time on the water at all since it was laid up in 1979 HIN starts with PCJ and ends with 79.
Keep in mind that it is very dusty and the colors are way more vibrant then they appear in the pic and it is the original gel.

I will get more pics of it next week, any info would be appreciated thanks guys!

Thread jack alert~ Mickey Thompson's son Danny just demolished his Dad's Land speed record this week at 419 mph !!!  They lost a clutch on the return run so it isnt an official record for the books but it is an amazing feat regardless.

And yeah dude, that boat looks real sharp. Good luck with her.

I would get ahold of Ralph Mills. He knows a ton about these boats. if it was a blown gas jet he would know it.

I have been in touch with him, he's going to check it out next week, he doesn't know the boat, so far the conclusion is someone that had some money built the boat to be a trailer queen, or to race it but it ended up being a trailer queen.
