todays welding assignment will be to weld together some down tubes for the gas tank. i decided to make then out of stainless, and removable.
2 stainless swedgeloks, and some length of .035 wall stainless tubing.

next step, hook up argon supply to tubing, and weld it out.

the rest of todays welding assignment, will be to weld 2 bungs into one tank, and filler necks on both tanks

Busted my freakin ass all weekend and sanded sanded sanded. Filled some lows sanded some more. Did 2 lasts layers of glass on the tank mounts, and this afternoon cleaned the floor up to spray gel. Got the black in the gun and started spraying, then CLOG! Took the gun all apart got it cleaned, started sprayin again. Then the gel starts to light off in the gun... Pull the gun apart again, clean the living crap out of it and then finished laying the black on. Tomorrow the clear and flow coat goes on. Once this gel is done, it feels like I've got to the top of the mountain and the rest is all just downhill from here

Got a break in the weather this morning after my 8 am philosophy class so I drove over to my inlaws and laid the clear down, no feed troubles with the gun, but I did get some drips out of the cap of the gun. I have to finish colorsanding the boat anyways so I'll do the floor too. This is the first time I've sprayed anything besides primer. I should stick to welding
before clear

first clear coat

didn't get any pics of the second layer of clear cuz I folded the plastic back over it put the boat cover on it and let it bake

Did some colorsanding on the bilge, set the intake and mocked up the gauges and bezels. Matching tach is next on the list. Made a bezel for the bilge pump switch out of a extra stringer washer I ordered

thanks, with so few wires, i dont see how people mess these boats up so bad. i think im going to move the ignition over towards the bilge switch and put a cigarette lighter near the gauges. i dont like the key there now that the angled bezels are on

The oxidation was so bad I started with 600 and worked up to 1500. I'm afraid that I will just turn to shit again. Paint is on the list for next winter

Meguiar's is your friend in this instance. Start with #9 Swirl Remover 2.0, follow that with #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax, use Soft Buff 2.0 polishing pad for the #9 and a Soft Buff finishing pad for the wax, trust me I have spent a ton of money buying products to make the Hallett look good, this is by far the best shit I've found. For your aluminum, chrome and stainless, use Zephyr Pro 40 polish with some cloth diapers, the stuff's amazing.

Keep up the good work, and keep up the pics!

I'm using t.r. 311 for buffing compound, it's some badass stuff for buffing molds and stuff, then I'm using the polish and wax that comes in the meguiars kit

I had someone show me the light about a year ago. Don't get me wrong, I Respect anyone that makes a honest blue collar living, but I also want to have a retirement, and not working on the job sites still when I am 55. I do kinda miss field work a little though.

well yesterday I:
Prepped and painted logs
Finish grinding the notch for rideplate
bolted the intake in
Polished the exhaust tips
made aluminum cover plates for where the old trim tabs were
bolted up the suction housing
I am forgetting some things most likely

Todays agenda:
Buy a bunch of stainless bolts
complete the color sanding and buffing
get the pump fully installed
finish the mini blueprint on the bottom
install all the thru hull hardware like gas fills emblems bilge drain.
install the gas tanks
