Few questions.
Can you mount electric fuel pumps sideways?
I have the selector valve on the transom and I'd like to run straight down into the fuel pump.
When wiring the fuel pump up, is it best to run it to the acc on the ignition or on a dedicated switch?
The overboard dumps for water, should these go out the side or out the transom?

Don't know if it's right or wrong, but here's a pic of my transom. Tank selector and fuel pump.
I wired a seperate switch on the dash for the pump.
All my dumps go out the back. Most racers like it going out the sides. This is so they can see the water coming out.

I dunno if they can be mounted sideways or not. Don't see why not,  :sly:

You can run the pump either way. I'd run it, and the ignition, through an oil pressure switch though. That way. if oil pressure drops, or engine stalls or fails, boat catches fire, etc, etc, etc, the pump isn't putting more fuel into a potentially hazardous situation. Pickles wired this way, although I would rather it be on a separate switch just as a preference, but it is not. Moo's is such a completely strange, alien and different deal that I will not go into it on that thing, but it's kinda close to similar but not the same damn thing at all.  ;)

I wish my boats had the O/B dumps on the drivers side!  ;)

You're running A holley pump right,....you run those upside down if you want....no problem.  Run the pump through a relay....hit up an alarm shop if you don't have Any....10A will be fine.

Water dumps......run it it out the side in front of the drivers seat so you can see it.

You should be able to run an electric fuel pump sideways. Tapping into the oil pressure circuit isn't a bad idea and remember to wire up a relay so that way you have consistent voltage to the pump. Also, remember that there are pusher and puller pumps. Figure out what you need first before making a purchase.

So after waiting for a month to get new pto bolts here's is the replacement they send

Sweet threads huh?

I'm glad that if these come loose or break it's only minimal damage, the sinking boat part is what sucks
I think that's a new style thread locker

Aren't bolts supposed to be different diameter throughout the threaded area?

End of rant!!!
If anyone knows where I can find some 14mm 12 points please let me know

What's the thread pitch?  Mcmaster has lots of M14x2.0 in an Allen head, which should work.  call up arp if you're stuck on 12 pt.

i would go to mcfaddendale! thats where i got mine, and used a socket head bolt, it will fit inside and flush with the pto...im guessing thats why you wanted 12 point...i got the black alloy bolts "equivalent to grade 10 or 12"  oh yeah and i would take them bolts and throw them at the people that made them!

I just got my 12 point bolts the other day from Rex Marine. My boat uses 7/16"-20x1 The ones Rex sold me were a little long and needed to be shortened. I tried using allen style bolts but I did not have the clearence to torque them and that is why I want with 12 point.

Well I was able to get them in very carefully. They don't make a 14mm 12 point. It uses a 12 point because the way the pto is designed. I got them in and torqued. Now I'll just have to have another beer to get it out of the back of my head when driving the boat.

McFaddendale Hardware is definitley the place to find everything rare.  I have allen bolts in mine but this hardware store would be worth a trip, atleast just to find other stuff you didn't know you needed!  There are a few in so. cal one in Corona, Anahiem, and Santa Ana

Yanked the motor out today to prepare for touching up the gel where the old mounts were. Decided to do something with the front motorplates.

Tired of trying to make stuff pretty and I'm broke so this will have to do until next season. Polishing it too expensive and that damn harbor freight buffer bogs down too much. I'm putting the boat back together for what seems to be the hundreth time.
Got my AN fittings and hose and bolted the rails in.

First trip is April 15th  I gotta haul ass.
Hopefully welding the crank and vblock on the trailer this weekend, redoing the bunks and rattlecanning the trailer.
