Can you do me a favor?
Without sounding condescending, install a throttle return spring at the carburetor and flip the cable bracket around and hook the linkage to the bottom of the carburetor linkage arm running the cable rearward.
If it can be avoided, I never install the throttle cable from the front. Here are some reasons why not.
1. If something as simple as a PFD was to fly out from the floor or a seat it can get caught on the loop of the cable and kink the shield sticking the throttle wherever it happened to be positioned.....Ends badly.
2. It simply looks and works better, taking a very large bend out of the cable making it not only last longer, but move easier...
I think I have seen this boat up close and personal before, I don't remember if it was at Lake Oroville or Berryessa...
80 MPH is possible, I would say 74 is real respectable...
Superjets are pretty cool boats, be sure to check the integrity of the gunwales in the middle, they really can benefit from some small bulkheads right in front of the fuel tanks. I really stiffens them up.
