Northern Canadian buys Southern California Jetboat!
« on: October 01, 2010, 04:38:52 PM »
Just bought this 1976 Challenger with 454 BBC. It is the only Socal style Jetboat within 500 miles!

I am going to pick it up in March, and spend about 2 weeks boating, based out of the Fort Mojave area before dragging it 2500 miles North.

Where is the best boating in mid to late March?

Mead will be low and cold
Laughlin will be cold and low
Havasu will be a good bet, but if you have trouble you may be a long way from help with no current to get you back.  That will suck.

Parker should be done just to say you did  O0

Blythe would be my first choice but it is much further south.  Anywhere from Lost Lake to Aja Quin to Blythe in March if a glassy wet dream in late March.  You may not see 5 more boats all day.   From sunup to sundown with nothing but your girl and your ski.   >:D       If you like that kind of thing.

Compared to here in March, it is very warm there ( about 10 to 20 below in March here at home). The ice (6 feet thick) isn't off the lakes here until very end of May at the eariest! The water temp never gets more than about 65 deg.

I will be down with the truck camper, so We are very mobile. Visiting Snowbird Grandparents in Fort Mojave, but willing to go anywhere up and down the River for a couple of days at a time.

This meet might be your only chance to meet a lot of people off this site at the same time. And Blue Water has a camping spot next door with full hookups and showers. And your next to a casino.

Have zero insurance on anything they own and dont give two shits less about your property."

About 600 miles North of Winnipeg. About 75 miles from the shores of Hudson's Bay. It is as far North as the road goes. I've got a pin on the Map.
