Full stringers will definately hold more power. Usually have less stress cracking and less hook over time from what I have been told. I have also been in 1/4 stringer boats with 5 people doing 75-80 all day with no issues whatsoever and seen lots of em doing the same thing. Now if you are gonna run a blown,alky whatever then I would get a full stringer. For a nice lake motor I would not worry as long as the boats already in good solid shape.
