Being I only get about 45min before dark at my test site it is taking lots of time. But it is close and I have the support of the Bullhead PD if anything goes wrong.
I will be testing today out at Rotory Park at about 7pm.
Ok got some GPS results from about 15 minutes ago.
These are for Jim's Squirtin Thunder boat
Any questions about motor and set up ask him, I was just watchin the RPM's vs. MPH in the passenger seat.
3000= 23.5mph
4000= 41.5 mph
5000= 67.5 mph
That was with the B- impeller in the Sanger Custom Sprint and with two people.
We may do a test every 500rpm just cause we can. The boat is responding very well to changes. We are going to do a turn test being some folks think the added rudders do absolutly nothing. We are going to put another loader in, the CP Performance Extreem Loader in just to see what it does. We are playing with two impellers, one an MPD A and the other a MPD B-. All the info as of yet is done with the B-. There is alot of other info that will not be posted that we are learning and testing. Our Parker 300 setup will be tested in a few weeks. We still have to install our new pan and the oil cooler, as well as our new High Flow Dynamics Oil Pump. We will also be testing our HillBilly 429 just incase the the engine gives before or at Parker.
Anyone that wants to come out and watch is more than welcome.
Well the air was the great limiter. Corrected elavation was 4176'.
I was also checking my brakes out !
The B- impeller does not give the same lift as the A did, the boat runs wetter.

Yesturday kind-of sucked, no #s, real bad air and hit something in the water that broke the pieto tube for the speedo. See what is nice is that I can test every day and get alittle info. How fast do you think that was Ralph, speedo only said 30mph ? The only good thing was the brakes are working well.

Actually if you were to look at the info posted (from a Density Altitude Calculator ) you would find a ton of usefull info for tuning a engine. And a good tune win help anyone win a race.

youre tuning your engine in conditions that are completely different then your racing conditions....makes sense! ;)
youre at more then twice the elevation, the tempature is 15 degrees warmer, and the its a third of the humidity of bakersfield.

I stand corrected on two things:
First, I googled "lake ming elevation" because it isnt the same elevation as Bakersfield. The first result I found I took as fact (big no-no on the internet - my bad).
Second - I saw your desity altitude as the elevation.
So yes, they are close in reguards to elevation, but still very far off as far as weather conditions.
You would think you were tuning ITB's with all this number crunching. ::)

Recording different set ups with different conditions is always beneficial. I wish I had recorded all the different set ups with different weather when I went drag racing

Well Rick it is more like perfect practice makes perfect, but oh well we should be OK for the race with the B set-up if it is needed. We still have a bit more to test. Then we will move on to the A set-up. And that should get real nice. ;D

Well I think we need to test one more time before tear down. I just found a few things not in our data. And I really wana try one more thing for shits and giggles. 8)
