well i'm no plumber or electrition but i did get the alternator in and all wires hooked up as well as the water lines today i used the push lock hose instead if braided line beacause it's abaout half the cost and good to 300 psi

my helper

did the carb lines as well you can see this so i did the braided line, you cant see the water once the interior is in.

i will be starting this thing for the first time tomarrow so i soaked all my lifters primed the oil system i got 60psi with a drill and oil coming to the top end. i should have more progress tomarrow still need to do the fuel system from pump to carb

i broke the moter in today what i did was take the inner springs out of the valve springs set rockers at 0-lash + 1/4 turn, the oil i used was shell rotella-t 30wt deisel oil and a bottle of comp cams break in addative, the reason i used these oils is for the added zinc content since the oils that are produced these days lack zinc. do you need to use these i dont know, i ran the engine at 1,700 to 2,000 for 30 min and ran the carb real fat to avoid any probs, because tuning is not an option at break in. tomarrow i will reinstall the center springs and do it all over again and call it done. the only bad thing that happend was the hull got burned by the headers being to close. oh-well its mine now. need  to get some different headers. >:(

well i finished my break in today but first i had to install the inner valve springs and to do that i had to fill the cyl with air to hold the valve from falling when the outer was removed

then remove the keepers

and install the inner spring

just do this 16 times and your done ;) after all this the reward came. i fired her up and gave her a few rpm's and oh yeah thats why i do all this hard work myself ;D it will give me an honest 400 hp and hopefully some great memories. so i cleaned it up a little and took a few more pics.

please excuse my temporary mufflers :-[

i still need to get some new headers or used :o get the diverter on and just a general clean up should be on the water in a few weeks, man i love this boat. thanx for looking guys

Ralph,

Thats a nice freaking boat man..just like my Cole T-deck. man, its the same thing and just a nice cool paint job too boot. Everyone is right, the painted scoop is much better and if you ever invest , white interior would rock in this thing with yellow highlights. We should all hook up together on the 23rd for Big River and bring the classic jets out. I am trying to get Omar to go out that weekend, interested?

I am using Reward water injected headers. Its a 440 Mopar. My boat hull is the exact same as yours.
