What is everyone running for an oil pan? I looked at almost every high capacity oil pan on the market, ranging from 7 quarts to 12 guarts.   I dont plan on running an oil cooler and like to keep things simple and fuctional.  I am running a 383 with a 6-71 blower.  I have a heavy foot and i know oil temperature's can rise fast in a blower motor.  So how much oil capacity do i need?

A force inducted anything will pretty much require an oil cooler if run for a long period at WFO.....

Why fight it?

Windage is actually a larger problem with more oil capacity in many cases. larger surface area. The ultimate would be to run a large capacity pan with a smaller amount of oil in it, it gets the oil further away from the spinning crank and in the pan away from the hot block.

Running an oil cooler can do two things, both sort of by accident. One it makes the system hold more oil, when you remote mount the filter(s) you get even more oil, the second thing it does is keeps the oil at a desired viscosity making it easier to obtain near perfect windage control....

Hands down IMHO the 9 qt. Dooley is the best small block pan available...I have two...

I run a 14 qt Dooley w/ 12 qts in it

Same here on my Chebby. Actually, I get 13 in it. My Ferds have run 10 qt Milodons and 10qt Dooleys. I hear a lot of GREAT things about Armando's pans, but never run one myself.
