I'm running a dooley 10 quart pan. Do I just run a stock oil pump pick-up? And what about a dip stick?

Stock pick up won't work. Dooley says it will keep trap door from opening. He fabs his own pickups for these pans, they're $115 and he may not have any built right now. I just talked to him a month ago about this. Stock dipstick did work for me without having to put new marks on it.

I think it depends on what stock pick up is used. I cannot remember the part number, but I want to say it was a 1970 big block Corvette pick up that I have, it is almost perfectly centered in the box. No clearance issues... I will check the Mellings part number when I get over there.

Not as simple as that.. The stock pick up will "fit", but the Dooley is a modified "stock" pan and has a trap box built into the bottom with a set of trap doors. the doors can interfere with the pick up if they are too close.

The distance from the bottom of the pan would be set the same as stock which is 5/16" to 3/8".

I will be at the shop later this afternoon after completing the "honey do" list..  I will try to score a couple of pictures of WTH I am talking about.
