660 Center Squirters Help!
« on: September 10, 2014, 05:03:10 PM »
Looking for some help, I have a pair of 660's on my Hondo that I can't seem to get to stop leaking fuel. When I first got the carbs the needed a rebuild and I did that, ran them a couple trips and ran fine with no leaks. The boat say for 2 weeks and after that now all they do is leak. There is fuel leaking from the bottom of both secondary bowls and the feed tubes going to the secondary bowls.

Has anyone experienced this or know where I went wrong with the rebuild? I have rebuilt carbs before and never had any issues like this.

I had issues  with the feed tubes leaking   holley sells different tubes that use grommets  instead of O rings. The O rings like to pinch  you can try using a little bit of grease

See if you pinched the o ring. Now the bowl , you can over tighten! Them!!! See if the gasket is good or if you left some of the old one!

I wasn't aware that Holley had tubes with grommets. That seems like it would be a lot better than the I rings. I know they can get punched because I pinched one when I first rebuilt them. I will look into the upgrade.

Thanks guys.

You have to use grease on the o rings for the transfer tube guaranty leak if you don't.
