you may need to jump the voltage regulater on your alternator together. depending on the alternator you got.

i dont think my gas tanks are vented. never thought about it. it runs fine though.

By two I am going to assume the main (4 guage or bigger) going to the battery and the exciter wire (About 16 guage or so).

Try disconnecting just the little wire and see what happens. Could be just an incorrect wiring scenario at your terminal block.

If you have to disconnect both to get it to run, you have a dead short somewhere, and could even be the Alt. Somewhere, seems to me, you have a crossed wire with the ignition tied to the exciter wire, really.

Just my thinking off the cuff. I'll chew on this awhile, lol

Lol no, never even saw one until 2sav's posts on the Carribean. My solution would be a piece of aluminum plate, a sawzall and a drill. But that's just me. Made a throttle shaft with a cordless drill, a vice, a grinder and a few files out of a nut driver back in the day, lol. (Long story, but it worked)

I just bought my scoop tray from jegs to the tune of about $110.00. I have a 4500 series tray that came with the scoop when my friend gave it to me but the hole for the carb is too big. Ill sell it to you for cheap :-) all ud have to do is weld in a plate that makes the hole smaller if you want. Its a mounting tray for a harwood fiberglass scoop.

You can buy fuel fills that already have a vent built in, that's what I did..  http://www.jetboatperformance.biz/pages/fuel_fills.html

I bought the fills on the lower part of the page, work great.

I can do the carb, PM or call for cost.

Did you change your fuel fills, or eliminate some other venting?  The tanks definately need some type of air vent, but if the boat was running they should already be vented.

I ALREADY AHVE THOSE FLIP TO[ FUEL FILLS...IT JUST SEEMS WHEN IT GETS REAL OUT OUTSIDE IT SPITS GAS OUT OF THE TOP OF THEM AND IT RUNS DOWN THE BOW OF THE BOAT

WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM? I WAS ASSUMING THERE ISNT A VENT ON THESE

Dunno if this helps, but the Moo boat will do that if I park it with the bow down below the transom. I have to lift it so the bow is higher, even in the garage, with full tank(s). Don't have flip tops, but sounds familiar. My fills are at the front of the fuel tanks which run clear to the transom, I figure it's just gravity, and with heat, expansion, pressure, well, you get the physics. Same thing happens with the Biesemeyer, with flip tops, but it gets stored on the side of the garage and the bow is down a little bit. I'll just never leave more than half a tank in it sitting there,I figure. Seems to be ok that way.

If you fill your tanks close to full, the heat will expand the gas and cause it to run out.
