coming back across elsinore today towards west marina my boat started to act like I was getting water in my fuel and it cleared out. As soon as i hit the no wake zone my water temp started to rise to about 180. she usually is at 140.. idle was a bit lower than usual. I figured humidity was messing with the carb. The wife dropped me off to get the truck and trailer and by the time I came down the ramp she was headed to the dock. she shut it off because the temp was at 200 and rising. I walked onto the trailer and pulled it up the ramp. pulled my plug and a ton of water stared to come out. so I opened the hatch and almost half of my engine compartment was under water. I let it drain, and looked for the obvious.. water lines attached. didn't do any further investigating but I'm going to hook to the hose tomorrow to see if I have a blown hose somewhere.  scary thought. glad we were heading in early that day and not just cruising around.

It is scary how fast a boat fills up through a hole the size of you finger.  Any boat I ever own will always have 2 bilge pumps, they are worth their weight in gold.  I have forgotten twice and the second time it was a race to see if I could find the plug before it touched bottom while tied to the dock still.  Oh and two cops watching it happen, not bothering to yell at me and tell me there is anything wrong as I walk back to the dock after parking the truck.  Assholes.

blew the water line from the jet to the engine.  replaced the hoses and was on the water today.

But did you just put new hose and hose clamps back on? Or did you do it right and use a/n fittings?
