A friend of mine recommended those for my 460 so I was wondering if anybody ran them they seem like a really good set of heads and the hp numbers you can get with a .030 bore and a good cam and intake are around 680 on pump gas. But with a price of $2000 I want to make sure it's good stuff

The P51s are outstanding, but that doesn't mean they are the best head for your combo, or the most cost efficient head for your combo, nor does it mean that they are even the right head for your combo (another head might be better suited).  All heads have advantages and drawbacks, and this includes the P51s.

Describe specifically what you wish to build.

It really depends on the combination, but for 550-600hp you certainly don't need P51s, in fact if you know these engines well enough you can do that power level on pump gas with factory iron heads.

If you simply must step up to aluminum, then at this point I'd recommend the Ford Motorsport SCJ heads.  They are essentially what the P51s are derived from but cost a lot less, are plentiful, and are always readily available should you need a replacement for some reason.  Keep in mid that with either the P51 or SCJ heads you will need pistons with a different valve layout for your setup so a bottom end rebuild is part of the equation.

This head recommendation might change depending on further details about the build.
