brand new bbf 532 broke in in hose in drive way seemed to run descent took to river backed it in on launch to test turned let started to fire and boom backfire blew the damn scoop of right in front of the law and my carbs were on fire. I put out and tried again same thing. advanced timing a bit and it fired but idles at about 2500. messed with idle screws nothing turned back distrutor a bit and it would die. took it out with the high idle just to see and it seemed to be ok up to about just below 4000 and I started to here a kinda snapping sound and it would start to fall out. eased into pedal and it would not get passed 4500 rpms with a bit of tucking noise.  parked it on shore drank beer and listened to wife say get rid of the pc. of shit. if I only had a shovel !!! fired it back up to head back to launch and the idle was at 3500 when I let of close to launch. vacum? timing? it has a brand new msd 6 am. somebody help me before I do the unthinkable. thanks

Yes it is my son bought it for me. I wasn't to sure about it but my dad put a BBC in his old school front engine dragster put an injection system on it and it has been running great. what's up have you had a problem with one or someone you know. other than the high idle it did allright out in bullhead this weekend I actually pulled away from son with his bbc. It isn't anything special but I rubbed it in his face a bit. talk to me buddy

I have a tunnel ram with 2 750 demons on it. of hand I can't remember the cam but I just got a cam kit from comp cams. I too had a hard time with putting in the cam when I finally got it in it was too tight. I have a buddy that owns a precision grind shop and he took my cam and just have it a tiny bit of a polishing and the cam was much better. the motor itself seems to be fine I just have some kind of vacum leak or timing issue. I used my t ram and carb set up off old motor and did not go through it so I might have to change gaskets and seals I'm headed out right now to pull plugs and spray some carb cleaner around the intake to see if I can locate a leak. like i said my dad's motor on his dragster runs just fine. and the owner of that machine shop Allen actually called me and said he had had complaints about the right cam shit but at that point I already had motor on stand and parts bolted on trying to get ready for the 4th. I'm in riverside so i did not want to take it all the way back to Fresno so I just did what I had to do now hopefully i can dial this pig in. I'll keep ya posted I'm gonna go out and try to figure it out and take a run to elsinore maybe this weekend to give it a whirl. are you near riverside?

I'm out in Simi Valley and would love to hear any findings because from the sound of it your motor is going to be similar to what I'm going to be building and want real world feedback on that motor instead of just hear say good luck!
