why dont you wire it up on a switch or the key? also with any elec. fuel pump i would strong advise a relay...bs post? that's probably not the best way to make your first post, in fact that's definately not the best way to make your first post...many of us are here to help, and if you feel that there is bs here then i dont know what to tell you...especially when your asking for help...shit maybe my post is bs, but im pretty sure holley's website will supply directions to help you

i wired mine to a 30amp relay with a fuse, then the wire from the relay goes to the ignition switch.  the relay and fuse for protection and i dont have to run a giant thick wire.

carry a spare relay and a spare fuse (you should have a bunch of fuses for everything that gets 12v...)

When i say bs i mean the search results i get when trying to find good info on the subject. not the replies you get. i'm usually down for good bs. does it matter if pumps high/low mounted? mixed reviews on electric pump info

notice the power to the relay/pump and ground are all larger gauge because these carry the higher amp draw.  the switched side can be small.  its just to activate the relay.

i got a mixed review on the red pump, they are great on the street, but i would recommend atleast a blue pump regulated...the red pump is kind of a maxed out deal and what you get is what you get...also that thing is going to suck for priming with that long run unless you are mounting it close and below the fuel tank level...even still i would use a relay for wiring it up...why not just get a really stout mechanical fuel pump and be done with it? no wiring to mess with and no BS!

i think he means a carter or something quality, not a vatozone fuel pump.  either way they're not as complex and rarely go bad.

in a boat keeping things simple = good.
