This past week I re wired my Tahiti and also put in all new lines for the logs/headers. Im out at Walters Camp right now and its running around 180 degrees once I'm planed out and cruisn, when I'm creepn around like in no wake zones it maxes out the tach around 220-240. What's the deal? Do I need to bleed out the lines?

First off, the tach reads RPMs, not temp.  The water should enter the motor; then leave it...an open cooling system requires no bleeding

Exactly right, but the temp readings you're giving are very high, for headers, not so much but still high for logs.....which is it? THAT is going to be critical in knowing what is going on here.

It may just be my gauges. Today I noticed that at a "cold start" the temp was reading 150.....time for new gauges!!
