« on: July 08, 2010, 08:49:40 PM »
I will be getting my motor back from the builder this next week . I am skeptical about launching it and breaking it in at the lake before i know all the bugs are worked out . Can i break in the cam on the trailer with a hose on the water line and one in the jet ?Thanks

Disconnect the driveshaft from the pump and you should be fine.

X2.  I have a stand that I can run my motors on, you need to see TJ's setup>>>>fukkin Sikk, he makes us all look like amateurs.

Pull the DL and install the engine normally, it will cost you about an extra hour, and save the pump packing and wear ring...

Why not go the the boat launch early in the morning and break it in on the trailer in the water.  I've been doing that since 1979 and never had a problem.  Not a good idea if it's a dirt ramp...

I like the idea of breaking it in on the trailer in the water!

Here is the stand I made. Broke many engines in. I since sold it casue it took up too much space in my shop/garage. I am going to build another one but it will be a bolt together design. Therefore when I am done with it I can take it apart and put the pile of metal in the corner. My site shows the run in stand.
Here is a video of it in use.
