Pics are golden. Haha. Well it’s definitely easy with basic tools either way but looks like the cable still mite be ok. Looks like you just need a new cable end coupling. I would try that first before pulling the trigger on a new cable. If you do go that route just take note how it’s routed and measure the length so the new one matches. You’ll find it pretty easy
