Dammit - never enough is it
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:56:46 PM »
OK, now I'm looking at putting a set of turbos on the BB Mopar in my boat.

Can you run those with an engine cover? I've never done a turbo motor before (let alone in a boat), but it would seem like it would make the most sense from a log manifold perspective.

Nothing beats a 8-71 for visual, but a flat cover with a turbo sounds pretty awesome to me.

Do they have water cooled turbos? Fire is not my friend. Ebay has turbos pretty cheap, and it would be pretty easy to plumb them up.

Anyway I'm just toying with the idea - thoughts and comments welcomed.

Yes you can run them under a cover .
make sure you get water jacketed exhaust housings.
That'll be the kicker to find along with the water jacketed exhaust elbows.
let me dig through my pics.

Also, here's a link to a guy that'll answer alot of questions, and help you save alot of money.

http://intakeelbows.com/

Aaron has excellent fab skills, for great prices, and will point you in the right direction for the setup. I don't think the Gale Banks turbo kits can push enough air for a well breathing big block, but I've been wrong before.

Do you guys remember the twin turbo Spectra we saw pulling into Temple Bar as we were about to leave? Anyone get pics of THAT sick beast? (I didn't, and am kicking myself).
